Join us in North Auburn Saturday and Sunday September 22-23. 14 artists are opening their studios for demonstrations and exhibits of our work. I will be painting and have silk set up for studio visitors to try their hands at silk painting.
Lots of fun to be had. I have new silk scarves, wall hangings, luminaries and jewelry.

Coming soon... Barbra Paitich Website

This is one of my cuddly hand painted silk satin baby quilts.....Last weekend we were visiting Brandon and Kira in their wonderful new home/studio in Topanga Canyon. (I'm recovering from knee surgery.) They plopped me down on the couch and wouldn't let me leave the "pod," pretty much waiting on me all day. Brandon - great teacher that he is - helped me construct a website, then sent me home to finish. I'm busily going through photographs with that in mind. So stay tuned... I'll post the new site soon.

Open Studio Mothers' Day May 12-13

http://www.northauburnartists.com/

Check out the artists on the North Auburn Tour for Mothers' Day. If you're in the area, this is a fun way to spend the day.  I have silk set up for demonstrating the techniques I use and also for visitors to try. Children are welcome.

I'll have hand painted silk scarves, steel and silk wall hangings, luminaries (glass cylinders covered with silk), jewelry with fused glass and shells from remote beaches in Baja California.

I'm working at the Baja Studio for March and part of April, then back in Auburn.

Hope to see you there.

Canine Companions auction piece

This silk and steel piece was auctioned at a Canine Companion fundraiser a few years ago. My friend Chris's breeder was playing in their pond. Steel grasses act as framing for the piece.

Finally back, really!

After many months of redecorating our home, I'm finally back in the studio. Dialogs with friends lately have resulted in my dragging out sketches from figure drawing classes to do some new nudes. Here is one from the past. I'll be opening my studio for Mothers' Day weekend along with 17 other north Auburn artists. Yipee, back in the groove.
